Ringy or GarageBand: choose a ringtone workflow

Choose Ringy when you want its ringtone catalogue and focused clip workflow. Choose GarageBand when you want a music project with tracks and instruments. A ready-to-use file may need neither if your system can import it directly.

Editing and installation are different

Whichever editor you choose, complete the ringtone export and select the result in Settings. A saved audio file or project does not automatically replace the sound used for incoming calls.

GarageBand provides a documented ringtone export route and supports music-making features beyond a simple trim. Ringy’s published iPhone listing describes audio and video import, trimming and a remix catalogue. Those product purposes are more useful comparison points than an unsupported claim that one app is “best” for everyone.

Check access and compatibility

Read the current offer in each app and the required OS version in the store. Ringy’s free download includes in-app purchases; this guide does not claim every feature is free. Older phones may have different app-version availability.

Our relationship to the products

Ringy publishes this comparison about its own app. It is not an independent review or a timed performance benchmark. We have not invented competitor prices, test scores or user testimonials. If your only task is choosing an existing tone, use the phone’s settings before adding another editing workflow.
